How do we get up to Arang Kel?

By chairlift from Kel, then a walk up to the village, or about 2 hours on foot all the way.

Is Taobat cold in summer?

It stays cool even in midsummer, and in winter it receives heavy snow, so bring warm layers whatever the month.

We live in Karachi or Lahore. How do we join?

Travel to Islamabad or Rawalpindi by air or by road, and we’ll pick you up there. Travel to Islamabad is not included in the package.

Are meals and jeeps included?

No. Jeep rents, breakfast and meals aren’t included in the price.

When is the best time for this tour?

March to October. From December to February snow usually closes the road beyond Sharda, so Kel, Arang Kel and Taobat can’t be reached.

Day 1

Islamabad → Kutton

An early start from Islamabad or Rawalpindi, with refreshments and photos at Kohala Kashmir Point and lunch in Muzaffarabad. Past Dhani Waterfall, Nauseri and Kundal Shahi to Kutton Waterfall.

Overnight Jagran Resort, Kutton

Day 2

Kutton → Sharda → Kel

Past Athmuqam, Keran and Dosut to Sharda for river rafting, boating, trout fishing and an optional visit to the ancient Sharda ruins, then on to Kel.

Day 3

Kel → Arang Kel

Explore Kel in the morning, then go up to Arang Kel for hiking, its meadows and photography.

Drive to Taobat on the most scenic road of the valley, past its local villages.
