The Route from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad

Most tours start in Islamabad or Rawalpindi. If you are coming from Karachi, Lahore, Multan or another city, travel to Islamabad first by car, bus, train or air, and we’ll pick you up there. From Islamabad the road climbs through Murree and enters Azad Kashmir at Kohala — about 140 km and 3 to 4 hours to Muzaffarabad. Popular stops on the way:

  • Murree — the famous hill station, with green mountains and pleasant weather.
  • Kohala Kashmir Point — a scenic viewpoint over the river and a favourite photo stop.
  • Al Jannat Waterfall — a peaceful spot for a short break and pictures.
  • Dulai Waterfall — another beautiful roadside waterfall to stretch your legs.

How Many Days Do You Need?

  • 3 days: Muzaffarabad, Pir Chinasi and Keran — a short trip that shows the best of Azad Kashmir.
  • 4 – 6 days: Neelum Valley up to Sharda, or Leepa Valley and Chikar.
  • 7 – 12 days: the upper Neelum Valley to Kel, Arang Kel and Taobat, or Neelum combined with Leepa Valley, Rawalakot and Banjosa.

Honeymoon Tours in Azad Kashmir

Azad Kashmir is a favourite with newlyweds — riverside stays, waterfalls and snow-capped views, without the crowds of bigger hill stations. Our honeymoon packages include private transport, comfortable hotels and a relaxed itinerary that you can adjust to your dates and budget.

Travel Tips for Azad Kashmir

  • Pack warm clothes — evenings in the valleys are cool even in summer.
  • Keep your CNIC with you throughout the trip.
  • Most networks work in Muzaffarabad and the main towns, but in the hills only SCOM is reliable.
  • Avoid driving on mountain roads in heavy rain, when landslides are more likely.
  • Try Kashmiri food — Noon Chai (pink tea), Yakhni and Kashmiri Pulao.
