Swat Valley is about 237 km from Islamabad — around 3 to 4 hours via the motorway. The road is excellent up to Bahrain. After that, on the way to Kalam, there are a few rough patches, but the drive along the river is peaceful and enjoyable. If you are coming from Karachi or Lahore, reach Islamabad or Rawalpindi by air or bus first, and we’ll pick you up there.

  • 3 days: Mingora, Malam Jabba and Kalam — the highlights of the valley.
  • 4 – 5 days: add Miandam, Ushu Forest and Mahodand Lake at a relaxed pace.
  • 6 days: combine Swat with Kumrat Valley, or spend longer in Kalam.
